alfa romeo 147 common problems
147Motor Control System Failure. Bought my first alfa on 14th August, all went well - she's a 2.0 selespeed lusso (2002) in red of course. It's great fun, been keeping it off the back roads but had to go over one recently. I wasn't going fast, but the road was bad and I'm sure the car ground out on a high apexed bit of the road.
The147 does not start on the first try when cold, and sometimes even when warm. I have to swing, stop, drop, repeat, then she springs into action. Been trolling the forums trying to find answers, but does not seem to be common. I found one where the problem was the same, and the theory was that it was water in the tank. Ibrought my alfa 147 2.0l 16v turbo bargain at 400 pounds drove fine back to mine next day start but the said immobiliso failure had a key and said codeNext day disconnected battery for 10 mins and it started fine then same problem next day but I left for a whole day disconnectedtried but third tiand wouldnt start twice due to failure but 3 rd
